Autism Awareness

One of my good friends is a special Ed teacher. Actually, about five of my good friends are Special Ed teachers and a few more are currently studying to be. But right now I'm talking about my friend who is a Spec. Ed teacher in a school for children with autism. A few weekends ago we walked with her school to raise awareness for autism in Autism Speaks 2008. Over 17,000 people walked and raised $1.4 million. We walked at Soldier Field. It was really pretty cool. Actually it was cold! The fortcast called for a beautiful, sunny day but at least we had sun.
Prior to the walk we were allowed on the field!! I'm not a huge sports fan but this was pretty cool.

The walk also took us past the Field Museum. I really need to get downtown more. It is a shame that I don't enjoy it more seeing as I live so close.
The majority of the walk was along the lake front. We didn't get any pictures of that at all even though it was beautiful. We were so busy walking and trying to keep warm. Thankfully, we all made it.
